A Natural Jackson Pollack Tree

Not a painting, a tree.

We have this tree down by the far end of the property that has squiggles. I’ve seen this kind of tree when it was small, but this is a giant squiggle tree. I have been using it to test lenses - to see if the lens is sharp enough to separate all the swirling branchless into a semblance of reality.

This is taken with the same 400mm lens as the cows, and it looks like a great lens for detail.

This is a 25%-size version of the image, so may take a few minutes to download if you don’t have a really fast connection. But try not to get lost in it; the lines don’t really go anywhere, just like one of Pollock’s paintings: it’s just there.
