This last weekend, I left home with a 500mm rental lens and some hopes that I could find some interesting things to photograph despite the constant rain.
I saw this tree across the road from a few horses that I had stopped to photograph (coming soon). The tree—heck, the trunk of the tree—were too big to photograph with that telephoto lens. So I did a panorama, with nine shots of the tree, three rows and three columns. I did my best to keep things straight, but this would have been a lot easier on a tripod. I had to trim quite a bit that I would have liked to have included.
Even so, I think the charm of this old tree is preserved.
Shot with a Nikon 500mm PF telephoto lens on a Nikon Z7 II camera (both rentals). Exposures were all the same: ISO 125, f/7.1, 1/160th second exposure. The stabilization of the lens and camera working together allowed me to get a sharp result despite the (relatively) long exposure times.
