I received a care package from my ‘dealer’ today - no, not that kind of dealer; the place where I buy my more advanced photography equipment. They sent me a Zeiss Otus 100mm f/1.4 lens, and I immediately put it on the Sony and took it out to the yard to see if it was working properly.
I think it is working properly.
I really like the rendering of the out of focus areas, and the exquisite sharpness of the goat. This is a fully manual lens, so I had to carefully get focus exactly right—the goat’s face is in focus, but his but is slightly out of focus.
This feels like a National Geographic grade lens.
Shot on Sony α1 with Zeiss Otus 100mm. ISO 100, 1/2000th second exposure, f/1.4.
This is one of my favorite shots ever.
Nice Goat! Thanks for sharing...
