A string of little copper cups overflowing meltwater turned into an ice cascade with temperatures in the teens overnight.
Shot with Phase One XF camera, 120mm macro lens. This was a focus stack: 15 images each with a slightly different focus, so that all of the ice, front to back, winds up in focus in the final image.
Here’s a single image from the set. The leftmost-icicle is the only thing in focus, and the image is dark, not yet processed.
I shot the images underexposed so that the highlights off the ice would not be over-exposed.
