This image has much less magnification than the heather shot. The heather was about twice life size; this it about ¼ life size (1:4 in macro ratio terms).
I don’t think I extended the focus zone as far as I would have liked, but lesson learned for next time. Just the very deep portions of the image are soft, and perhaps they add a bit of subtlety to the image.
The clip I used to hold the flower shows up in the image; might wrap that with black cloth in future.
