Moon through Branches
While in a remote area east of Graham, WA, I spotted a rising moon through some branches
I was packing up my camera equipment after taking some shots of the distant Olympic Mountains, and spotted this half-moon rising over a ridge in the Cascade range.
My hands were terribly cold; like an idiot, I had thought I would just set up a quick shot of the Olympics and head home. But the Olympics were about 100 miles away (but visible in the crisp, clear air!), and it was a finicky shot and my fingers were like icicles from handling all the metal equipment. Still, I managed to brace the camera against the top of the Jeep and get the shot.
Such adventure, photography. ;)
Shot with 300mm Canon FD f/2.8 lens, at f/5.6 to try to get a solid focus with my shaking hands! Thank goodness for the heated steering wheel in the Jeep…
