Moon through daytime clouds
There were some high clouds, which made for a dramatic daytime moon photo
I chose the black and white version of this photo because it strikes a better balance between the details of the moon in the wider sky, and the subtlety of the clouds.
Here’s the full color photo; it’s just a lot of blue and the details in the moon are less clear—and the magic seems to get lost, at least for me.
The blue version is not without its charms, but the less-real image seems to make more sense. The above shots were made at 200mm focal length; here’s the very same moon at 600mm focal length. I still feel a little put off by all the blue.
