While I was at 3000 feet elevation, I took eight photos of the mountain, with the camera vertical, and combined them into the panorama above using Affinity Photo. Camera: Sony A1. Lens: Zeiss Otus 100mm f/1.4. I said my photo yesterday was my favorite Mt. Rainier shot of all time; but this one is pretty commanding, too, despite additional cloud cover. The clouds sort of take over the shot, in a good way.
I did the same with a 50mm lens, the Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM. This one feels too wide, it includes a clearcut directly in front of my position. But it is good from a documentary standpoint: this is what I was looking at.
There are about as many clouds in both shots, but the 100mm image is my favorite.
One more panorama. This is three shots of the mountain with the camera in regular horizontal orientation, with the Zeiss Otus 100mm lens. Like yesterday’s single photo, it has fewer clouds and more mountain.
I like #3 best and then #1. There is a good bit of motion and drama in these photos that give excellent drama! Well done. Well done. If you would send me a print or two of #3 I will gladly pay for your trouble.
