Mt. Rainier Sitting on the Cascade Range
Yes, it's true: Mt. Rainier is a big pile of volcanic rubble, sitting on top of a mountain range.
I wanted to get a view of Mt. Rainier’s (very) broad base, so I took a few steps back (1 step = 1 mile) toward the NW to get this shot.
As a side effect, it shows the true nature of the volcano: it sits on top of the Cascade Range.
Shot with Sony α1 camera and 70-200mm lens at 70mm focal length. It’s a panorama made up of two shots. I love this part of Enumclaw: big farms, wide open spaces, fantastic views.
I also did a black and white version, using a red filter to draw out more detail in the mountain.
