Interesting clouds around Mt. Rainier yesterday evening. The ring of lower gray clouds is likely to be created by air flowing up and over the Cascade Range. The upper clouds have been fancy of late, and these do not disappoint.
There are also a series of lenticular clouds. These are smaller than I ever remember seeing, but they look like they are created in the usual manner: air rises over Rainier, and creates a down-stream wave when it sinks on the other side. Thin clouds form at the peaks of the waves.
All of the lenticular are stacks of two, so I would presume there had been two oscillations at the time I took this.
