I spent an hour or so trying to get a good shot of a swallow, but they move so fast, it’s 95% luck and 5% skill. In the meantime, I sat with Donna near one of her bird feeders, with my camera and telephoto lens resting on my knee, when this pine siskin peeked out at us.

On the left side, you can see the insect he was hunting. These are green-violet swallows, and they have been helping with the large number of wasps around the house.
Also spotted this morning:
Probably a Cooper’s Hawk, but I’m not very familiar with hawks (yet). He flew in fairly low (much lower than the eagles and vultures), and I had the 600mm lens setup (300mm with 2x teleconverter), so I got him at good scale.
Yep. Looks like a Coopers Hawk.
