Pine Siskins Attack!
Mostly each other. But watch your fingers.
My wife Donna is leaving out the feeders this fall and winter, and the ferocious little Dinosaurs (aka, Pine Siskins) are acting like it’s all being done for Just Them®.
They are bold, they are screamers, they fight, they chase, they bully. They knock each other off their perches. They slap each other with their wings. They bite; they pull out each other’s feathers—they are, in a word, nasty.
Cute, though, to look at ‘em, with their bright yellow wing bars.
But don’t be fooled. No brotherly or sisterly love to share in this crowd.
