South Prairie Creek
The colors of fall have just begun to creep into the lush vegetation of the Pacific Northwest.
This is a type of image I really enjoy—an ordinary location that has a special feel to it. This is the same area as was shown in my “Swimmin’ Hole” post a few days ago, but looking from the other direction.
(The first photo was taken from just above the railing seen in the distance at right.)
This was a time exposure—six seconds, which smooths out the little wavelets on the water and gives a more serene view. The late afternoon light gives a slightly yellow tint to the greenery.
Photographed with the Phase One IQ4 digital back, and a Canon TS-E 24mm lens.
Below, a similar viewpoint, but without the time exposure.
South Prairie Creek
I really like this photo. I like the colors and feel of it but mostly I like the way the composition takes your eye in sort of a circular route around the photo that’s good it creates movement keeps the eye interested and follows it around to the entire photo and appreciates it for the better I think.
