It was a dark, gloomy day yesterday. The soft misty rain that is typical of Seattle (when we are not getting atmospheric rivers and rivers flooding!!!) fell most of the day. Droplets on the crocuses were a delight.
We have a tiered bit of landscaping in the back yard, and I went to the lower level and leaned my elbows on the bark dust to get my shots. Lily the Dog followed me, and stuck her nose into the camera lens because how in the world could I be doing anything that didn’t involve her???
Managed to get a couple shots off in spite of the playful interference.
I lost my tripod recently (walked away, someone took it) so I had to do these shots handheld. Pretty tough to do in the gloaming. It was evening all day long.
Both photos were taken with the Sony camera and Sigma 105mm lens; the Phase One was just too big and clumsy to shoot by hand with the limited light (all the shots had movement). Felt fortunate to get anything!
Beautiful shots because of the darkness. So soft. Let’s see Lily again too!
