I have heard the phrase “squash blossom necklace” for decades, but I never stopped to consider what an actual squash blossom might be. Donna planted some squash in the garden, and they have erupted into these amazing deep deep yellow flowers.
This one has a few visitors lapping up nectar and exchanging pollen.
That one has his head in pretty deep…
