I’ve visited the lake twice, and both times it’s been perfectly still and beautiful. This view shows the cafeteria in the distance.
The lake is up a long private road, and is a retreat center. It has such a peaceful feeling; I love it up there. I have many more pictures I will share in the near future; this picture more or less captures the absolute sweetness of the area.
Thanks to Elizabeth, who was in the office the day I went up there, and kindly gave me permission to wander the grounds and take some photographs.
This particular photograph was taken with a special lens, a 21mm Zeiss Biogon. It’s an old-school design, and at least on my camera works best in a square format. The view is approximately the same as the history Hasselblad SWC camera, a film camera that I used for a while a few years ago. Very nostalgic feeling; the wide, square view makes me think in new ways about using a camera.
