I went out early this morning to walk around the yard, looking for things that needed doing sometime later in the day. I found these tulips along the upper path. But they were not open yet, they were just starting to unfurl, and they were a dark, somber bluish purple. I had no camera with me, and made a mental note to get a photo when the sun was on them.
By then, as you see above, they had changed color to a bright, red-tinted purple. I took a few shots to try to capture them, and was taken by the sharp contrast of green leaves and bright flowers.

I also noticed these cute blue flowers; perhaps a ‘speedwell’? Not sure. Pretty though.
