Photoshop has ‘generative AI’ in their latest beta software. I downloaded it and gave it a try. I experimented with crazy object generation, and it was a bit rough - there are three inserts above, and one removal of a building.
I had to generate around 50 objects of various sorts before I had some I liked at least a little bit; the above are the best of the best.
The object removal, a large, low building that sat at far right, worked well, however. So it’s doing well with conventional stuff, but it’s not ready for imaginative manipulations yet.
If we ignore the weird left leg on the lizard, the lack of a cast shadow for the lighthouse, perhaps it will be genuinely useful (with the usual disclaimers for “holy shit, you can do anything with this!” For some subset of anything, already true.
Here’s one of the abject failures below. Needs some work, I think…
