I prefer the dark black and white photo and viewing it large made a big difference. This photo has mystery and nostalgia. The light across the tracks, a gift to the photographer. This is right up there with my favorites.
I would agree that seeing it full size is the best. There's subtle detail as you dig into the picture that only stands out properly at full size. About that light from the side: yep, exactly. The decisive moment for that scene.
